    It was an era so foreign to me now it seems like a different life.  My early child hood years in the 1970’s were spent on an estate with a beautiful home, barns, cottages for the help and seemly endless acres of forests, lush fields, and rolling hills. We had horses, a kennel of English Springer Spaniel show dogs, a chicken coop, cows and sheep. It was my paradise, and from the time I could walk I explored every nook and cranny of the land.

    When I found out that my 4 year old son was being bullied in daycare, I was livid. I spoke to the school (nicely) and found that they thought this kind of behavior is normal for 4 year old's and made no changes to address the situation. The “problem child” was doing things like spitting, biting, hitting, screaming 4 letter obscenities and acting violently towards classmates and teachers as witnessed by my family members as well as other mothers.  I decided I had to do something to get their attention...     It was a beautiful late August summer day, and I took my 3 year old son to the park. He went running straight for a very tall climbing wall that seemed to be miles high for his chubby little hands and body. He barreled up to the playground climbing wall and immediately began to scramble up, my heart skipped a beat, and I started to make a move to pull him down, fearing he would fall and hurt himself.
